How Mercari fees work in 2026
- Selling fee: 10% of the item price plus buyer-paid shipping, charged only when the item sells.
- No processing fee for sellers since January 6, 2025. Buyers pay a separate Buyer Protection fee.
- Shipping: if the buyer pays, the shipping amount covers your prepaid label, but the 10% still applies to it. If you offer free shipping, the label cost comes out of your earnings.
- Payouts: standard bank transfers are free. Instant Pay has a small fee.
Example: a $40 sale with $7 buyer-paid shipping
| Selling fee | $4.70 |
| Total fees | $4.70 |
|---|---|
| You receive (before your shipping label and item cost) | $42.30 |
That's 10.0% of what the buyer paid for the item and shipping.
